101 Self Improvement Resources – this should keep you busy for a while. A great reference guide to blogs and lots of other websites.

Last week I introduced you to myGenie.tv and the wonderful videos of David and Michelle Childerley (Money Mastery and EFT with David Childerley). This time I want to introduce you to the Balance Procedure.

Intro
Lately I’m becoming more and more aware of the fact that small issues can really annoy me. Examples of these are waiting in line too long at the store or seeing someone driving in the wrong lane. I know it doesn’t help to get all worked up about this and usually it just makes things worse. But when I’m a bit tired or have a lot of stuff going on, I get worked up a lot faster.

Then I remembered I had put something on my to do list about something called the balance procedure and the issue of “irritated/annoyed”. The idea is to balance this feeling of irritation/annoyance to a complete sense of freedom, feeling empowered with the choice to live the life you want. I have been doing the balance procedure for a few days now and it really helps me to feel better. I will continue to use the Balance Procedure for this issue for 28 days and will definitely use it with other issues.

I got the idea from myGenie.tv, a membership site I joined primarily because of the EFT/Tapping videos. According to myGenie.tv the balance procedure can be used to help you create natural balance in your life within 28 days. Here is a very short (simplified) description of how to get started with the balance procedure: you place your hands over your heart chakra; you breathe in – and feel good about something ; and you breathe out – here you think or say the word “balance”. The videos below show a couple of examples.

Videos
In the video below David Childerley shows you how you can balance the feeling of fear to safety and protection.

In the next video Michelle Childerley shows you how you can balance the feeling of low self-esteem to confidence and joy. This can work wonderful in addition to improving your self-esteem with EFT.

Other Examples
Just like EFT/Tapping you can use the balance procedure on everything. Here are a few examples from myGenie.tv. I think anyone can relate to at least some of them.

Worthless / Not good enough / Not deserving

Loneliness

Social anxiety

Lack of relationships

How to know your wants

Lack of direction / What’s my life’s purpose

Having no time

Judgmental / Critical

Injustice

Financial worry

Sadness / Loss / Grief

If you want to learn more about the balance procedure, just visit myGenie.tv.

Take care,
Gerber

It was originally published in 1912 in a book by Christian D. Larson, titled “Your Forces and How to Use Them”. You can download the book after you sign up for our newsletter (in the menu on the right hand side).

Promise Yourself…

To be so strong that nothing can disturb your peace of mind.

To talk health, happiness, and prosperity to every person you meet.

To make all your friends feel that there is something worthwhile in them.

To look at the sunny side of everything and make your optimism come true.

To think only of the best, to work only for the best and to expect only the best.

To be just as enthusiastic about the success of others as you are about your own.

To forget the mistakes of the past and press on to the greater achievements of the future.

To wear a cheerful expression at all times and give a smile to every living creature you meet.

To give so much time to improving yourself that you have no time to criticize others.

To be too large for worry, too noble for anger, too strong for fear, and too happy to permit the presence of trouble.

To think well of yourself and to proclaim this fact to the world, not in loud word, but in great deeds.

To live in the faith that the whole world is on your side, so long as you are true to the best that is in you.

I advice you print this out and post it somewhere where you can see it every day.

If you like to learn with the help of videos, this might be the list for you.

This is the introduction to the list:

Video collections can offer hours of entertainment, but they also can provide users with hours of education. [...] You can find videos about medicine, other videos about politics. Other collections contain documentaries, produced by professionals and by students. And, while not all collections are labeled as “open courseware,” they all are free to watch and enjoy.

A lot of us are bowed down by life – stressed, short of time, tired, on a treadmill, knowing this is not the right way to live, but not knowing how to free ourselves up to live more fully, more abundantly. There are simple things we can do – they do not take time or money – they take a change of attitude. Here are 9 of them:

1. Being totally financially honest – if you’re not, this indicates that there is insufficient for you to have everything you need without dishonesty.

2. Creating a vacuum so that more good things can flow into it – don’t fill your life up with things you don’t want. Ask yourself if you want each thing before you buy it. Do not have abundant rubbish, live abundantly by seeking out the items and experiences that work for you in your core being.

3. Tithing is often linked to religion, but it is also possible to tithe in a non-religious context. This seems to be a really important aspect of living abundantly – every time you freely give money away, you are implying that you are confident that more will come – this is a BIG positive affirmation with a ton of power behind it. The classic amount is 10% of your income. I’ve recommended this to a lot of people, and they have told me that when they do this – magically – they appear to have more. I started with 10% but now I’ve increased it, because I’ve seen that the more I give away the more I get back, and the happier and more abundantly I live. A great book about tithing is The Classic Seed Money In Action by Dr Jon Speller and Kathleen Shedaker.

4. Being grateful for what you already have – focussing on the good that’s already in your life. It is easy to think about what you do not have, but spend some time every day thinking about what you do have. Start every day by thinking of 5 things that you’re grateful for – and voice this out loud.

5. Resentment, jealousy, envy and self-pity get in the way of the free-flow of abundance. If you are jealous or envious of someone, it implies that what they have isn’t available for you to have too. If you find it difficult to let go of these feelings, Bach flower remedies might help. Try the remedy ‘willow’ to counteract resentment and self-pity, or try ‘holly’ for envy, jealousy and greed.

6. Forgiving those that have wronged you is part of living abundantly. Holding on to your anger, however justifiable it may seem, keeps you stuck in the past, rather than going forward into a better future. If it’s difficult to release your negative feelings, experiment with writing a letter expressing all your anger, hurt or envy. Write until you can write no longer, after which you can burn it.

7. Being able to receive from others. Being able to receive is healthy, but lots of people find it difficult. You may need to practice receiving. Bring to mind the pleasure you get in giving. By not receiving generously you are denying other people the pleasure of giving.

8. Recognize that basically ‘good luck’ plays a very small part in people’s life. If you put your faith in good luck, then you have to accept the possibility of bad luck too. People that put their faith in ‘good luck’ very often spend their lives waiting for things to happen. Those that do not believe in luck go out and make things happen.

9. Believing that there is enough money, food, love, etc. worldwide to meet everyone’s needs to live abundantly. I left this one till the last, because it can be very hard to believe when faced with war and starvation in the newspapers and on the TV. But a lot of this anger and need is generated due to the fact that people who have don’t believe they have enough, because they substitute money and food for all the other abundance of life. Do your part to correct that imbalance and start living a life that recognizes there are inequalities and shortages, but recognizes that we can correct that so that we all have what we need.

Here is a quick post about something I am really excited about. It is about speeding up videos, so you spend less time watching those videos while still taking in all the information.

One of the first posts on this blog was about speeding up your audio learning. This is a huge time saver if you listen to a lot of audio books. Now I finally found a tool with which you can speed up the videos online. This tool can cut your learning time in half. With Enounce MySpeed (no affiliate link) you can adjust the tempo of the video without altering the pitch of the audio. The trial version allows you to play videos up to 3 times as fast.

Here are some tips from the article about speeding up your audio learning. These tips also apply here.

How much do you speed it up? First try it at twice the normal speed. If you go back to the original speed it will seem sloooowww. Your mind has adapted to the faster input rate. Try speeding it up a little and if you get used to a certain speed, speed it up a bit more. Of course, if the audio contains real-time listening exercises you can always go back to normal speed.

The sound can be a bit distorted if you speed it up more than a little, so my advice is to use headphones.

It works great with YouTube and online video courses.

Try Enounce MySpeed now and let me know what you think.

This is the last post in a series of articles by Brian Tracy. He is famous for his books and audio programs on success in sales and in other areas. This article is about problem solving. Enjoy!

Solve Problems and Make Decisions More Effectively in Discussions With Other People
Your ability to communicate is the most important skill you can develop to get on to the fast track in your career. Perhaps the most important thing you do in business is to solve problems and make decisions, both by yourself and with other people. A major reason for meetings in the business organization is problem solving and decision making. The key to effective problem solving and decision making discussions, is for you to all go through the process systematically.

Clarify the Problem
Right at the beginning, you ask the question, “What exactly is the problem?” Clarity of definition will resolve 50% of the issues before they go any further

Think About the Future
When discussing a problem, be sure to focus on the future over the past. Ask the question, “Where do we go from here?” “What do we do from here?” “What are our options for the future?” Too many problem-solving discussions end up focusing all of the attention of all the people present on what happened in the past and who is to blame. The effective executive uses this type of communication to focus on where the company and the individuals are going, and what can happen in the future – the only part of the equation over which anyone has any control.

Focus On the Solution
A second element in effective problem solving communications, is for you to talk about the solutions instead of talking about the problems. It is for you to keep the attention of the individuals in the meeting focused on the possible solutions and what can be done rather than what has already happened.

The discussion of solutions is inherently positive, uplifting and has a tendency to release creativity amongst the group. A discussion of problems is inherently negative, de-motivating and tends to inhibit creativity. You can become a positive thinker simply by becoming a solution-oriented person rather than a problem-oriented person. If you get everyone in your organization thinking and talking in terms of solutions, you will be astonished at the quality and quantity of ideas that will emerge.

Putting These Ideas Into Action
First, take some time to be absolutely clear about the problem that is under discussion. Give some thought to what an ideal decision or solution would accomplish. Instead of focusing on the situation as it is, talk about the situation as you would like it to be.

Second, keep the conversation focused on solutions, on what can be done in the future. The more you think and talk about solutions, the more positive and creative everyone will be and the better ideas you will come up with.
