How to Take Massive Action and Follow Through

I’ve just watched a video where Tony Robbins, John Reese and Frank Kern discuss the reason why people don’t follow through on things. This is a truly motivational video.
As you might know I’m a big fan of Tony Robbins. I’ve been to several of his seminars and listened to a bunch of his personal development programs (Personal Power, Get the Edge). His material has helped to improve my everyday life tremendously. It has among other things inspired me to start EverydayImprovement.com.
Another field of interest for me is Internet Marketing. This market is filled with self-proclaimed experts on this topic and it’s very hard to distinguish who to listen to and what to buy. John Reese and Frank Kern are some of the most successful internet marketers. They walk their talk and have shown again and again why they are so successful and how you can become successful as well. But they also noticed that most people who buy their products aren’t achieving the amount of success they could have. Why is that? Well, most people don’t follow through and take (as Tony Robbins would put it) ‘massive action’.
John and Frank decided to ask the ‘guru’ in the field of success this question. Why don’t people follow through on things? I took several pages of notes when watching the video, so be prepared to have pen and paper ready.
Here are some of the things I wrote down (their ideas and my own thoughts):
- Most people are excited by progress. Buying a product that could help them feels like progress. And then they buy another product, because that feels like progress too. Eventually you will have to open that box and take action for results to happen. Buying the product is not enough.
- Most people are not in a must-situation. If you want to master something (internet marketing or anything else) it has to be a ‘must’ for you.
- Find out why it is a must for you. What is it that won’t give up on?
- If you know for certain that something will work, you will follow through.
- The cycle of potential, action, results and belief. If you believe that there is very little potential, then you usually don’t take massive focused action and you don’t get the results. You have to be certain that you are going to succeed. You can accomplish this by conditioning your mind for success. Visualizing is one way to do this. Visualize the results you want in your head. Then take massive action. The results you will get in real life will strengthen the belief you have that you will succeed. And from then on you can repeat the process with perhaps even greater goals.
- Don’t lower your expectations. Don’t be afraid of disappointment. Just follow the steps above and success is inevitable. Of course you will face some setbacks on the way, but that will only make you stronger. It takes no guts to be skeptical. Be bold and face the challenge.
