What is Power Yoga?
I have never done yoga before, but recently I got interested in yoga because it’s good for the body as well as for the mind. Power Yoga is a total body workout to improve your strength, flexibility and energy level. It’s related to Ashtanga Yoga: you do a series of yoga poses and it’s important to breathe deeply while you do these poses.
Yesterday I had my first Power Yoga session. I really liked it. I felt the energy in my body and it was like my body was very happy that I gave it this attention. I like the fact that you don’t have to force your body to do things it can’t do. It means you don’t have to feel bad about it if a pose is too difficult for you. You can just do what you can and practise.
After the session I felt a lot better than I did before: I felt more energy, more at peace and even more self esteem! I have decided to go to yoga class at least once a week, because I think it’s important to have a moment to care for myself in the busy life I live.
